Tim Funk hits 5,000 pounds of food for Together We Cope

Tinley Park Boy Scout Tim Funk, working toward his Eagle rank, collected 1,620 items in a food drive he conducted this month to benefit Together We Cope. Agency officials estimate the food at 5,000 pounds, a substantial contribution to the Tinley Park pantry that serves nearly 65 families per day. Tim delivered hundreds of brown paper grocery bags to homes throughout his neighborhood with a notice of his Eagle project, and was joined by friends and family the following week to collect the food. Together We Cope assists south suburban families in temporary crisis with direct aid of food, clothing and some financial aid. Further information is with Carol Ettema, pantry director, at 708-633-5040.
