171st Street in Tinley Park Reopens
After a weeks-long closure to accommodate the widening of LaGrange Road, the stretch is again open to traffic.
A portion of 171st Street in Tinley Park that had been closed to accommodate the widening of LaGrange Road has reopened.
The road was closed from 94th Avenue to LaGrange Road beginning June 6 and reopened June 27.
LaGrange Road is being widened from 131st Street to 179th Street to address "increased traffic demands that have caused safety and operational concerns."

The refreshed LaGrange Road will have six lanes instead of four, with a barrier median. The $95 million project touches on Orland Hills, Orland Park, Palos Park and Tinley Park.
The project is roughly scheduled for completion in 2015.
