Whiz Kid’s Accomplishment: Most kids sell lemonade, but this one turned a backyard garden into a small business. His grandfather helped with planting, but Austin decided on his own two years ago to sell the zucchinis, peppers and other veggies back to his mother. He even drew up and signed a contract.
“It also taught him about counting,” Theresa Aron said of her son’s stack of nickels and dimes. “And I’m willing to give it to him because it’s teaching him responsibility.”

Whiz Kid’s Inspiration: Precocious Austin entered the world of commerce after hearing his parents talk about the value of hard work and money. He hasn’t spent any of it yet, but perhaps he’s plotting an expansion of his garden, or as he puts it his "farm."
