Black Friday shopping at the mall? How about the Tinley Park Public Library? Over 1,500 items will be on sale Friday, Nov. 29 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fill a paper bag with as many items as you can for only $5. Bags will be available in the Bookstore. Get more info.

TUESDAY, NOV. 26
Crusader Clash! The 5th annual Crusader Clash seventh and eighth grade athletic competition is set for Tuesday, Nov. 26. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with the games scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. Participants can register as a team or individual. 

Teams consist of 4-6 participants. If you register as an individual, you will be placed on a team for team events. Individual events include soccer kick, hockey shot, basketball hot shot, volleyball serve, baseball speed/accuracy throw, football accuracy throw, weightlifting, standing long jump, chipping, and timed 30 yard dash. 

Team events played are dodge ball, 4 on 4 basketball, and tug-of-war. Awards will be given in all individual events and overall individual Clash Champion, 1st through 3rd places.

Pizza and pop will be served during the awards presentation. Participants can register online, or on the day of the event beginning at 5:30 p.m.

SATURDAY, NOV. 30
Annual Christmas Craft and Vendor Expo: 
Don't miss this free event at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tinley Park,  6850 W. 159th St. The event will feature nearly 60 local crafters and vendors. Raffles and split the pot will also be offered. Starts at 10 a.m.

ALL WEEK
Tornado Relief Supply Drive: Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady and the Board of Trustees are spearheading a Supplies and Relief Drive for Washington, Ill. Starting immediately donations of pillows, toiletries, gift cards, etc. can be dropped off at the Orland Township Office, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park.  

Donations will be accepted during regular business hours next week, Monday and Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Orland Township will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving but will reopen to accept donations on Friday, Nov. 29 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Donations will be accepted until Saturday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. Find out what to donate

Tinley Park-Park District Helps Out Santa! Santa has trouble fielding all his fan mail, so the Tinley Park-Park District has agreed to help the Big Guy out. Children who would like to write to Santa and receive a personal letter from him should drop off their letters at "Santa's Mailbox" in the Bettenhausen Recreation Center during office hours from November 1 through December 1. Children age 3 to 12 only, please. Don't forget to include your address for Santa! Because Santa will be  busy packing his sleigh for Christmas Night, he will only be able to answer letters received on or before December 1. Get more info.  *Ongoing daily through Dec. 1.
