'Super Bingo' to Benefit Tinley Park School

St. George School did. The school's "Super Bingo" event scheduled for Nov. 10 features enticing, large prizes and raffles. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., Bingo begins at 2 p.m.

MONDAY, NOV. 4

Get Organized for the Holidays: Professional organizer Beth Randall will help you get ready for the holidays from start to finish. You’ll learn steps to help with shopping, sending greetings, gift-giving, and managing how to pay for the holidays on time. Starts at 7 p.m., Tinley Park Public Library. Get more info. 

TUESDAY, NOV. 5*

Tinley Park-Park District Helps Out Santa! Santa has trouble fielding all his fan mail, so the Tinley Park-Park District has agreed to help the Big Guy out. Children who would like to write to Santa and receive a personal letter from him should drop off their letters at "Santa's Mailbox" in the Bettenhausen Recreation Center during office hours from November 1 through December 1. Children age 3 to 12 only, please. Don't forget to include your address for Santa! Because Santa will be  busy packing his sleigh for Christmas Night, he will only be able to answer letters received on or before December 1. Get more info.  *Ongoing daily through Dec. 1. 

THURSDAY, NOV. 7

Tips on Stress Reduction: Bring your yoga mat or blanket and pillow to lie on the floor and enjoy this wonderful guided meditation designed to help you let go of stress. Relax, refresh, and renew, during this time set aside just for you. Cell phones must be powered off before entering the Meeting Room. No admittance once the meditation has begun. Starts at 7 p.m., Tinley Park Public Library. Get more info. 

FRIDAY, NOV. 8

Baseball Registration: The Frankfort Square Baseball League will hold its 2014 signups, on 3 days in November. Registration will be held at the Frankfort Square Park District Building located at 7540 W. Braemar Lane in Frankfort. 

- Friday, Nov. 8, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. 
- Saturday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Fundraising candy will be available for purchase but only during in-person registration. Raffle tickets will also be available for both in-person and online registration. There will be raffle ticket pick-up dates designated at a later time for those who register online.  Registration form available for download online. 

SATURDAY, NOV. 9

Comedy Improv and Open Mic Night: Stop into the Tinley Park Performing Arts Center, 16801 S. 80th Ave., and come prepared to have fun, laugh until you drop and especially share your own talents at our Comedy Improv and Open Mic Night. Both Kidz on the Bridge and Graffiti on the Fourth Wall Comedy Improv Troupes will perform, then the the stage will be open to anyone wishing to sing, tell jokes, dance, do a monologue, magic, their own improv scenes, etc. Please contact the library at 708-342-4200 to be placed on the Open Mic Performers list and get your free tickets. SUNDAY, NOV. 10

Tinley Park Turkey Trot 5k Walk/Run: Don’t miss the Tinley Turkey Trot 5k Walk/Run. Whether you are a runner, leisure stroller, exercise pacer or race walker, this event is for you. Shirts will be awarded to the first 550 registered participants. Please indicate your shirt size on the registration form. Awards will be given for all first, second, and third place male and female runner in all age categories. An award will also be given to the best overall resident and non-resident male and female runner. Fee for the race is $19 with Shirt/$16 without Shirt/$30 Race Day. Pre-registration closed November 1 at 3 p.m. Registration will open again at 7 a.m. on race day at Vogt Woods. For more information please call the Park District.
