The Tinley Park High School Band Boosters are hosting a Bingo night on Wednesday, Nov. 13, to raise funds to support the needs of the school's marching, jazz, concert and symphonic bands. The evening includes food, cash prizes, raffles and a 50-50 drawing. Fun starts at 5:30 p.m. Find out more.

Veterans Day Ceremony: The Village of Tinley Park will honor its veterans during a short ceremony Nov. 11, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Patrick E. Rea Veteran's Plaza, 18001 80th Ave. Find out more.

Fitness Center Opens: After months of waiting, Tinley Park-Park District members will be able to enjoy a 29,000-square-foot addition to the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center. The Park District will officially begin operating its fitness center out of the new facility on Monday, Nov. 11. The new facility is attached to the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center at 8125 W. 171st Street in Tinley Park. Find out more.

Primary Care Physicians Open House: An apple a day keeps the doctor away, which is why the physicians with Primary Care Professionals are hosting an Open House giving away taffy apples, an Apple iPad, and health screenings. The free event will be held Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 3 to 6 p.m. in Suite 370 of Pavilion A on the Silver Cross Hospital campus, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Find out more.

THURSDAY, NOV. 14

Tinley Park-Park District Helps Out Santa! Santa has trouble fielding all his fan mail, so the Tinley Park-Park District has agreed to help the Big Guy out. Children who would like to write to Santa and receive a personal letter from him should drop off their letters at "Santa's Mailbox" in the Bettenhausen Recreation Center during office hours from November 1 through December 1. Children age 3 to 12 only, please. Don't forget to include your address for Santa! Because Santa will be  busy packing his sleigh for Christmas Night, he will only be able to answer letters received on or before December 1. Get more info.  *Ongoing daily through Dec. 1. 

FRIDAY, NOV. 15 

Baseball Registration: The Frankfort Square Baseball League will hold its 2014 signups, on 3 days in November. Registration will be held at the Frankfort Square Park District Building located at 7540 W. Braemar Lane in Frankfort. 

- Friday, Nov. 8, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. 
- Saturday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Fundraising candy will be available for purchase but only during in-person registration. Raffle tickets will also be available for both in-person and online registration. There will be raffle ticket pick-up dates designated at a later time for those who register online.  Registration form available for download online.
