Property Tax Levy on Board Agenda

The Tinley Park Village Board will vote on approving its 2013 property tax levy at its next regular meeting. The levy amount the village is requesting is $19,980,020, which is not an increase from last year's county-adjusted tax levy. If approved, the tax rate will be $1.33 for every $100 of equalized assessed value. Go to the village's website to find other items on the meeting agenda.

When: 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17
Where: Village Hall
More Info: See the full meeting agenda at the village's website.

Joe, the "not an increase" statement is such a sham. Keep in mind that last year the village officially requested, $19,391,281 which is three percent less than the $19,980,020 stated. Z and friends know that the county automatically will tack on an additional 3%, so residents will end up paying closer to 20,579,420 for the levy and next year we will see the same headline that taxes aren't being raised. If Z was truly not raising taxes, the board would be requesting $19,391,281.
