Music on the Plaza Comes to Close This Season


The Cadillac Casanovas close out this year's Music on the Plaza season. Head out from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, to Zabrocki Plaza at the Oak Park Avenue Metra station to enjoy the music and dancing. Definitely lots of dancing, if this video from earlier this summer proves.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 6

  • Duct Tape! The 8th Wonder of the World! Find out new and novel ways to use duct tape during this presentation at 7 p.m. at the Tinley Park Public Library. The program is for grades 6 to 12. Find out more details.
  • First Friday at Garden Gallery and Studio: This monthly event features live music, art displays and refreshments. Plus, attendees can participate in this month's art activity, silk scarf painting. The free event (the scarf painting costs $15) is at 7 p.m. at the gallery, 17459 S. SATURDAY, SEPT. 7

  • Chicago Baby Expo: The area's largest expo featuring products, informational seminars and all things babeis runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Tinley Park Convention Center. Find out more details.
  • Movie & Books: This month's book and film adaptation to discuss will be Safe Haven. The film, starring Julianne Hough, Josh Duhamel and Cobie Smulders, will screen at 1 p.m. at Tinley Park Public Library. Find out more details.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 8

Chicago Bears vs. Cincinnati Bengals: Is there really anything else to do than watch the Bears kick off the NFL season at Soldier Field against the Bengals? If there is, we don't want to hear about it. Game starts at noon and can be seen on WBBM-TV (Channel 2, CBS). Check out Patch's new Loaded for Bears blog that lets you not only read about the team but toss in your own observations about this year's squad.
