Kids Get to Play in Park District's Reindeer Games

If nothing matters but the weekend, you better plan it out. Patch is here to help by spotlighting some of what's going on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in and around Tinley Park.

Rudolph Dash

Kids from ages 7 to 9 get to wear a red-lighted nose and race as part of the Tinley Park-Park District's Rudolph Dash. The famous reindeer will hand out awards, and participants will get to visit with his boss, Santa Claus.

When: 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13
Where: Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center
Cost: $15 per child

FRIDAY, DEC. 13
Longest, Farthest, Highest: The Tinley Park Library holds a throwing, building, stacking night for kids ages 6 to 12 from 7 to 8 p.m.

SATURDAY, DEC. 14

• D146 Surplus Sale: Community Consolidated School District 146 residents can find a good deal on surplus equipment, including computers and TVs from 8 a.m. to noon at Sandidge School.
• Millennium Elementary Santa's Workshop: The elementary school will have a Secret Santa workshop, raffles and other activities at 10 a.m.
• Lunch With Santa: Children and parents can have a buffet lunch with St. Nick starting at 11:30 a.m. at the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center. 

SUNDAY, DEC. 15
Chansonettes in Concert: Enjoy this women's singing group at 2 p.m. at the Tinley Park Public Library.
