It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s a … Flugtag?

Come to Burnham Park on Saturday for the Redbull Flugtag (German for "air show") to watch some spectacular feats of flight and, no doubt, failure. Teams compete to fly their own human-powered, self-made flying apparatus. First flight is at 1 p.m.

Taco Fest

Hankering for a hunk of something tasty stuffed inside a tortilla? Well, you’re in luck. The inaugural Sam Adams Lakeview Taco Fest is happening this weekend along Southport. Eight restaurants will be serving tacos, ranging from traditional beef to cactus to duck. There will be beer from Sam Adams and Lucha Libre wrestlers will make an appearance from 5-6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Southport and Cornelia. The event runs from Addison to Newport, noon-10 p.m. Saturday and noon-9 p.m. on Sunday.

Sunday Is Free at the DuSable Museum of African-American History

The museum offers a rich historical look at African-American history as well as featuring more contemporary exhibits. The current exhibit, KKK-“Kin Killin’ Kin” looks at the epidemic of black violence through the eyes of artist James Pate. The museum is open noon-5 p.m.
