Headquartered in the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center, the Tinley Park Park District owns and operates scores of parks, playgrounds, sports fields, bike paths, recreation centers, gyms, pools and natural areas throughout Tinley Park. Facilities include the recreation center, the Vogt Visual Arts Center, the Landmark Museum and Church, Tinley Fitness, Tinley Junction and fieldhouses at Vogt Woods and McCarthy parks.

The five-member park board of commissioners is headed by President Brian H. Younker and meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at the recreation center. The director of parks and recreation is John Curran. The superintendent of recreation is Sandra Wolff-Chevalier, the superintendent of parks is Ryan Veldman and Jim Carter is the business manager.
