Makes no sense for a roundabout there. If i had a choice between a roundabout or the exit ramps fromRead More I-80 being put in around 183 and Ridgeland, i would choose the exit ramps. But then once the roundabout is in and the village see's it isn't working, you know the next thing they will say is we need another exit ramp from I-80 for the concert traffic. What a waste of money.

It's going to make it far more difficult if not impossible for those of us who live on 67th ct southRead More of 183rd to be able to get out. When this was brought up at the meeting they even said they hadn't considered that issue. The whole thing is very poorly planned.

It will make it impossible for the residents in Millennium Lakes to get out of the sub division notRead More just during concerts but rush hour too.At least with the traffic light you can get a break in traffic once in awhile. Imagine traffic from the convention center, traffic from the concert and trying to get out of the sub-division. Mr. Mayor I invite you to try to get out of our sub-division in that scenario. The Mayor saw the federal money and jumped at the chance to get it without any concern for the residents who live in that area. Then he held a open house trying to sell it and yet the Mayor was not there to answer our questions. he staffed with people who could not answer those questions.

Trying to distract from the fact that they have wild captured whales and dolphins in their poolsRead More that they kidnapped to exploit for money!

Learning how to take care of this whale species now will save it from extinction decades from nowRead More when their numbers are diminished through reckless hunting.

There are good reasons for certain institutions to capture wild creatures. WS mentioned one. ThatRead More said, there is the problem with over stocking of captured animals and not understanding them. Orcas are the primary example. Most orcas are not being captured for study but for profit. And when you have an 8 - 10 ton animal in an enclosed space your may have trouble - two trainers killed by the same orca. There are no recorded instances of orcas attacking humans in the wild - get one in a tank and even if the death is accidental you are still playing with fire - orcas are not dogs. They are highly intelligent creatures - actually the largest member of the dolphin family although their size resulted in their being termed "whale" many years ago and it has stuck. So I agree with both Gina and William on that subject. I am a little surprised that the Shedd is now expanding into a dog show as well. if that helps encourage people to adopt rescued dogs, great.

(20 ILCS 1605/2) (from Ch. 120, par. 1152) Sec. 2. This Act is enacted to implement andRead More establish within the State a lottery to be conducted by the State through the Department. The entire net proceeds of the Lottery are to be used for the support of the State's Common School Fund, except as provided in subsection (o) of Section 9.1 and Sections 21.2, 21.5, 21.6, 21.7, and 21.8. The annual salary of the Director is $142,000.

Ty, the even bigger political game was that the lottery was sold to ADD TO school funding. Instead,Read More what they did was to use the proceeds to REPLACE the existing funding. The net effect is the schools got about the same amount of money but the state got a huge windfall of new money (the old source of money that used to go to the schools) that they then used on port barrel spending to buy themselves more years at the public trough.

Cracker thin crisp crust is the real Chicago pizza. Deep dish is good and I'll eat it happilyRead More several times a month. But it's something different than regular pizza. I think out of towners, people under 50, and deep dish restaurants are the ones that call it "Chicago style" pizza. It's deep dish, and we make it in Chicago. But it's not Chicago pizza.
