Meet Angel. She’s a kind and warm dog who is looking for a home to brighten up.
Angel is a 7-year-old German Shepherd mix, with tan and black fur, who needs a new home. She has been at PAWS Animal Shelter in Tinley Park since Oct. 16, after her previous owner passed away. Angel lives up to her name with a calm, warm and affectionate demeanor. She listens to commands, especially “sit.” She prefers to be the only pet in the house. If you're interested in adoption, contact the shelter at 815-464-7298 or visit its website. Looking for more adoptable pets? Baby, a playful orange, white and black striped cat, still needs a home. Success stories include Millie, a lovable pointer mix found a new home, as did Patches the cat. Rosie and Lily, the pair of adorable Dachshunds, have also found owners.

Meet Rosie and Lily, two playful and inseparable (and tiny) Dachshunds in need of a home together.
Rosie and Lily are two lovable and playful miniature Dachshund dogs that need an owner who will appreciate them both. They were taken to PAWS Animal Shelter in Tinley Park together from a different shelter and may be related. The two are inseparable and would need to be adopted together. Lily is five years old, while Rosie is one year old. They both have been at the shelter for about two weeks. They are food aggressive with each other, and would do best in a home with older children. If you're interested in adoption, contact the shelter at 815-464-7298 or visit its website. Looking for more adoptable pets? Gus, an orange domestic short hair, is waiting for a new home. Buggs, a Retriever Labrador mix, still has a lot of love to give. …

Meet Patches. She's in need of a home and a great owner.
Patches is a three-and-a-half month old Domestic Shorthair cat in need of adoption. She was found by herself in Glacial Park about a month ago, and has been at PAWS Animal Shelter in Tinley Park. She gets along great with people, and doesn't mind being held. PAWS also has several other cats and kittens available for adoption, several that are declawed as well. If you're interested in adoption, contact the shelter at 815-464-7298 or visit its website. Looking for more adoptable pets? Millie, a lovable pointer mix, still needs a playful owner. Gus, an orange domestic short hair, is waiting for a new home. Buggs, a Retriever Labrador mix, still has a lot of love to give. Some recent success stories include Buddy Boy, a gentle, green-eyed …

Meet Millie, a two-year-old Pointer mix who needs a home with folks who like outside energy and inside calm.
Millie is a two-year-old Pointer mix in need of a home. Inside, she's a very calm, gentle and responsive to people and their commands. Outside, she lets her energy out. Millie has been at PAWS Animal Shelter in Tinley Park since early September, when she was transferred from another shelter. Staff at PAWS said she's a real sweetheart and they are surprised she's remained as long. PAWS also has several cats and kittens available for adoption, several that are declawed as well. If you're interested in adoption, contact the shelter at 815-464-7298 or visit its website. Looking for more adoptable pets? Gus, an orange domestic short hair, is waiting for a new home. Grayster and Zolton are waiting to move into a new home. Could it be yours? Read about them and see if these cats are for you.
A dynamic duo of black, domestic short-hair cats is staying at PAWS Animal Shelter in Tinley Park. They are originally from Mokena and were dropped off after the previous owner could no longer afford to keep them. The shelter volunteers are hoping that Grayster (who has a layer of white fur below a layer of black hair) and Zolton can be adopted out together. The brother cats came in together and should leave together. The cats are declawed in all four paws and should be kept as indoor cats. The pair also are litter box trained. Neither are aggressive and will do well with other cats. Zolton is definitely the more relaxed one of the two. Grayster is playful and likes to explore. Both are loving and friendly. If you're interested, contact …

Samson, an energetic 2-year-old, needs a new home. Would he be a good for fit for you? Find out how you could make him your pet.

Samson is a tough dog to pin down. No, he's not feisty; he's just a stray from Tinley Park and not much is known about his background. The volunteers at PAWS Animal Shelter in Tinley Park said the 2-year-old dog is a Terrier mix but he certainly looks like he could pass for another breed of dog. He is definitely peppy enough to be a Terrier. Samson has energy to spare but isn't wild or frantic in any way. Toss him a ball and you'll quickly make a new best friend. A family that wants a playful dog will find Samson to be a good fit. If you're interested, contact PAWS at 815-464-7298 or visit the shelter's website. —By Palos Patch editor Nick Swedberg Two Ways to Stay Connected to Tinley Park Patch:

You can't tell from the video but this Bichon mix usually has a puffy coat.
Binny is sporting his summer look now. The good people at PAWS Animal Shelter in Tinley Park gave the 4-year-old Bichon mix a haircut recently. He came in resembling a giant cotton ball, according to pictures in his file. Binny was picked up from a high-kill shelter and is looking for a new home. Most smaller dogs you'll come across are highly energetic. Binny follows a much more laid back way of life. He is friendly, adventurous and enjoys the company of people. The one hiccup is that he still needs to be housebroken. A new owner will have to help Binny adjust to living indoors. If you're interested in adoption, contact the shelter at 815-464-7298 or visit its website. Some recent success stories include Buddy Boy, a gentle, green-eyed …

Maddi is eight years old and is ready for a comfortable home. Ernie, who is one year old, wants to play.
Maddi would like nothing better than to sit next to you. This 8-year-old domestic shorthair has been at PAWS Animal Shelter in Tinley Park since the end of July. It's hard to see why anyone would want to give up this sweet creature. Maddie is missing the tips of his ears. Volunteers believe she suffered a bit of frostbite at some point. Maddi just loves to be constantly around people. She loves everyone she meets at the shelter and is an extremely easy-going pet. Ernie is another sort altogether. This 1-year-old domestic shorthair is full of energy. The volunteers said Ernie is a climber and jumper. He'll easily keep up with someone looking for an energetic buddy around the house. It's recommended that Ernie be the only cat in the house, …

This pitbull and labrador mix is just waiting to be adopted.
It's tough to understand how Shadow has gone unadopted for the nearly a year. She's such an energetic and fun pup. But according to her trainer at PAWS Animal Shelter in Tinley Park, Shadow is equally content running around as she is sitting on the couch. Shadow also is learning quite a few tricks, including how to sit, heel and come when called. She's good with other dogs so, if you already have some, Shadow should fit in fine. She just tends to stay by herself when around other dogs. Ideally, Shadow would fit in a home that doesn't have young kids and with someone who would continue her training. If you're interested in her, contact the shelter at 815-464-7298 or visit its website. Looking for more adoptable pets? Gus, an orange domestic…
