Incumbents Remove Village-Funded Photos from Campaign Site

Following a complaint by several challengers to four incumbents' use of village-funded photos on their reelection website, the incumbents removed the photos as of Thursday, Jan. 31.

Days after a complaint was filed over four Tinley Park incumbents' use of village-funded photos on their reelection website, www.TeamTinley.com, the photos were removed as of Jan. 28, Sun-Times Media reports. Earlier this week, mayoral candidate Steve Eberhardt, and trustee candidates Karen Weigand, Andrew DeLuca and Nancy Petro, filed the complaint with the Illinois State Board of Elections. The complaint was levied against Mayor Ed Zambrocki and trustees Brian Maher, Dave Seaman and T.J. Grady. Village Cleck Pat Rea was also named in the complaint, according to the report. The photos were replaced by shots of the incumbent candidates at an outdoor event, with the contested photos completely removed from the TeamTinley.com home page. …

Register to Vote by March 12

The deadline to register to vote for the April election is March 12.

Residents wishing to vote in the April 9 municipal election need to act soon—the deadline to register is fast-approaching. The cutoff to register is Tuesday, March 12. Residents can register at Village Hall, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mayor Ed Zabrocki's opponent Steve Eberhardt, and trustee candidates Karen Weigand, Andrew DeLuca and Nancy Petro, recently filed a complaint over Zabrocki and incumbent trustees Brian Maher, Dave Seaman and T.J. Challengers File Complaint Over Incumbents' Campaign Photos

A complaint was filed Jan. 28 against Mayor Ed Zabrocki and trustees Brian Maher, Dave Seaman and T.J. Grady by four challengers in the April 9 election. The complaint centers on campaign photos used at www.TeamTinley.com.

Tinley Park Mayor Ed Zabrocki, Village Clerk Pat Rea, and trustees Brian Maher, Dave Seaman and T.J. Grady, were all named in a complaint that alleges taxpayer money was used to fund campaign photos, Sun-Times Media reports. The complaint was filed by Zabrocki's opponent Steve Eberhardt, and trustee candidates Karen Weigand, Andrew DeLuca and Nancy Petro. The complaint was filed Monday, Jan. 28 with the Illinois State Board of Elections, and alleges that Zabrocki, Maher, Seaman and Grady are all using village-funded photos of themselves and Tinley Park landmarks on their campaign website, www.TeamTinley.com. If the incumbents are of the same mindset as their rude supporters, no wonder they go and hide. I bet the challengers would be happy to have people like carol meow show up at a meet n greet and ask questions. I also bet that she would not have the courage to appear in public and mudsling like she does here.   more ›
