The attorneys for five Indiana men accused in a Tinley Park attack on a suspected white supremacist group are in talks with prosecutors and the judge about a possible plea agreement. They will be back in court Nov. 16.

In the midst of chaos, violence and tragedy, our Patch readers took it upon themselves to start a conversation. It was—and remains—one that has at times been combative and accusatory. This is a case to watch, because if they really did get off with a slap on their wrists it would signal that the only justice for people with unpopular views is in the street. Or in the case of the attackers, going after opponents and wedding parties that simply have the same taste in food.
