The family of the victim of last month's fatal 7-Eleven shooting in Tinley Park is planning a benefit to help create a college fund for the slain 24-year-old's young son. Dyson, 18, of Markham, was charged Saturday with murder and armed robbery in connection with Thursday's fatal shooting in a Tinley Park 7-Eleven parking lot, according to a Village of Tinley Park press release. He is being held without bail, and his next court date will be Tuesday, March 26, at the Bridgeview courthouse, a village spokesman said Saturday. A 20-year-old New Lenox man is one of two suspects in the armed robbery of a 69-year-old Frankfort Square woman, the Chicago Tribune reports.
A New Lenox man, 20-year-old Aaron D. Anderson, is one of two suspects arrested Wednesday in Sulphur Springs, Texas in connection with the March 4 kidnapping by gunpoint of a 69-year-old Frankfort Square woman. The Chicago Tribune reports that Anderson and 23-year-old Dorian Yamini of Richton Park were arrested without incident Wednesday morning after a "police chase involving state, county and city police." The two were taken into custody in Sulphur Springs, about 80 miles northeast of Dallas. "Both are charged with unlawful possession of a handgun by a felon, a felony. A 17-year-old boy was charged as an adult on two counts of attempted robbery after he and another person allegedly tried to rob two kids, according to Tinley Park Police.
A 17-year-old boy faces armed robbery charges after he and another person allegedly tried to rob two juveniles Feb. 18, according to a Tinley Park Police press release. Jordan Dwyer, of the 6600 block of West 165th Place, was charged with two counts of attempted armed robbery. Although he is a teenager, Dwyer was charged as an adult, and he is being held on $100,000 bail in the Cook County Jail. His next court date is March 18. Two men have been charged in connection with the manhunt that started Jan. 2 in Tinley Park and ended in a car crash in New Lenox.
Two men were charged Friday with the Jan. 2 Tinley Park armed robbery that ended in New Lenox after they crashed their getaway car on Route 6 just east of Cedar Road. A third man was released pending investigation. The Cook County State's Attorney's Office charged Larone Smith and Lazeric Watkins, both are 24 and from Chicago. The pair appeared Friday at Bridgeview Courthouse. Smith's bond was set at $500,000, while Watkins' bond is set at $250,000. A Chicago man has been arrested and charged in an armed holdup at an ATM in August, according to a Tinley Park Police report. READ: Police Search for Citibank Armed Robber LaShaun Evans, 33, of the 1700 block of South Kingston Avenue in Chicago, was charged with armed robbery after being taken into custody in Chicago on Wednesday, Nov. 7, by U.S. Marshals, the report stated. A gunman with a white bandana covering his face robbed a 7-Eleven in the 7600 block of 159th Street early Friday morning, taking off with about $50 in cash from the register, according to a Tinley Park Police report. The store manager told police he was sitting behind the counter at around 3:09 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, and heard the door open, the report stated. Police are looking for an armed robber who approached a driver at an ATM in downtown Tinley Park early Tuesday morning. The suspect robbed the driver at gunpoint with a "silver handgun" at Citibank 17401 S. Oak Park Ave., around 6:30 a.m., according to a news release from the Tinley Park Police Department.
