The Bears offered a one-year deal for $2 million. Urlacher, 34, initially asked for two years totaling $11.5 million but says he would have settled for $3 million. Wednesday, he called the Bears offer "a slap in the face." Urlacher's ubiquitous jersey could be seen on Bears fans of all ages and was among the NFL's most-sold jerseys through 2010. The eight-time Pro Bowler recorded 1,779 tackles, a Bears franchise record, and many believe he's a future Hall of Famer. In 2005…

Tinley Park Editor Paul Dailing picks his favorite stories each day through the week.
Hi, folks. It's been a heck of a week here in Tinley Park and at Patch. Before we get to my top stories of the week, a bit of a shout-out to our "Pick the Score" contest. If you correctly guess what will happen during the Bears game tomorrow, you could win a $150 gift certificate from Target. So get cracking, dood. Onto my picks for stories of the week. This was originally posted as places to watch the Bears vs. Seahawks, but a lively discussion got going in the comments about bars I missed when looking at local spots. Cuzin's and the Sweet Spot were some of the suggestions I missed of places we can watch the Bears take on the Packers. What are your top spots? Part of our new Local Business Monday column, writer Beshanda Spencer took a …

We asked our Facebook and Twitter followers how to sound like we know what we're talking about as the Bears take on the See Hocks in the Superb Bowl playoffs.
The title of this article is, of course, a joke. Everyone in Tinley Park knows everything about football – this is Bears Country. But as it is OH MY GOD, YOUTUBE HAS A VIDEO FROM THE '70s OF DICK BUTKUS AND WALTER PAYTON ARM-WRESTLING AT GEORGE HALAS' HOUSE!!! ... OK, the football fans are gone. It's just us now. This is a safe place. But it won't be for long. At 1 p.m., the NFC divisional-round playoff game between the Bears and the Seattle Seahawks will start. So, as a public service for people who have not contracted the fever for "le football américain," we at Tinley Park Patch reached out to the fans for things you can say during the game to make it sound like you know what's going on. Tinley Park Patch Facebook page fan Lorne …
