The Lincolns are already gone and Terry’s Lincoln will disappear from Orland Park on Feb. 1. The dealership at 9401 W. 143rd St. is holding a liquidation sale as it prepares to call it quits at the end of the month. Forget about a deal on a new Lincoln, the cars and parts moved over to Joe Rizza’s dealership at 8100 W. 159th St. earlier this month when he added the Lincoln franchise to his stable of car brands at his Orland Park location. Terry’s still has some used Lincolns as well as a well-stocked inventory of other used cars that it hopes to move out this week. “Anything that doesn’t sell will move to the Terry’s Ford dealership in Peotone,” said a salesman who asked to remain anonymous. “Some of the sales staff will move there, too,” …

Carm's Beef, a local Tinley Park restaurant, closed its doors the week of Jan. 21. A note on the door states the reason for the closure as 'a lack of support'.
Carm's Beef in Tinley Park abruptly closed this week. A handwritten note taped to the door of Carm's reads: “Due to the lack of support this store is permanently closed.” The business's sign on Oak Park Avenue also reads, 'Closed'. Carm’s Beef, a new Italian restaurant with a rich history, has opened at 17801 S. Oak Park Ave. in Tinley Park. The original Carm’s was opened in 1947 by owner Mick Nebren’s grandmother at Cicero Avenue and what would become the Eisenhower Expressway. A second store followed in Berwyn and then a store was located in Hillside for more than three decades. “I left the restaurant business for a while to be a realtor,” said Nebren. “But I decided it was time to bring back Carm’s Beef.” The restaurant that also features pizza, hamburgers, Italian sausage, subs, deli sandwiches and all kinds of salads opened Jan. 9, said Nebren who owns Carm’s with his wife Judy. Jim - clearly you are not looking for grocery stores. Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Jewel all lie on LaGrange Road. Harlem there's Walt's, Eurofresh & Meijer. North of 151st on Harlem is wooded area.   more ›
