T'was Three Months Before Christmas ... And Decorations Are Up

An original poem by Tinley Park Patch editor Paul Dailing, inspired by Clement Moore and a Sept. 25 trip to the Tinley Park Kmart.

T'was three months before Christmas, down to the day, And I headed to Kmart, grabbing lunch on the way. Shower curtain, a broom, garbage bags and some more On the list in my hand as I walked in the store.   When what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a Christmas display! At this time of year! Of Halloween goblins we should dream instead. No visions of sugarplums dance in this head.   The boon on the rest of the shoppers? Dunno. I saw some walk by, smiling at the fake snow. As green leaves on the trees outside still do stick, I knew in a moment, this might make me sick.   I love Christmas cheer. It warms my soul daily.
