Early voting in this year's consolidated election begins Monday, March 25, and runs until Saturday, April 6. The election is Tuesday, April 9. Tinley Park residents living in Will County can go to the Tinley Park Village Hall to cast their votes in this early period. The voting sites for residents living in Cook County are the Orland Township Administrative Offices in Orland Park and the Oak Forest City Hall. Voting hours for the sites are as follows: Mail ballot applications are available at the Will County Clerk's Office's websiteand the Cook County Clerk's Office's site. Although he only won 13 out of 35 Cook County voting precincts that cover the village, President Barack Obama was still the choice of the majority of Tinley Park voters in Tuesday's election, according to data released Wednesday from the county clerk's office. Early voting ends Saturday, Nov. 3. To vote early, you must have a valid photo ID. Those include a current driver’s license, a state-issued ID card, a college ID or another government-issued photo ID. For the 18 percent of Tinley Park residents living in Will County, you can register at Village Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 3. Republican turnout was high for Early Voting in suburban Cook County. Take the Patch primary poll, and tell your neighbors who deserves your primary vote.
Cook County's suburban Republicans cast 44 percent more Early Voting ballots for the March 20 presidential primary than during Early Voting in 2008, according to the Cook County Clerk's Office. Nearly 4,400 more Republicans participated during this Early Voting period, which ended Thursday, than did four years ago. GOP voters represented 38.6 percent of all early voting ballots cast, up from 19.4 percent in 2008. With a contentious race among Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul, the outcome of the Illinois GOP primary will matter in the march to a nominee.
