Officers stopped a driver on Friday when they noticed she had a cracked windshield. But that wasn't the only crack they found, the report said.
Local officers reportedly found more than 2 grams of heroin, more than 1 gram of crack cocaine, a burnt pipe and a random pill when they pulled over a driver last week for a routine traffic violation. Police began following Rachel L. Yates, 24, of the 12600 block of South Keeler Avenue in Alsip shortly after 8 p.m. March 16 when they saw she was driving a vehicle with a cracked windshield, according to the report. They then saw her cross over the center line twice and fail to use her signal when turning, they said. She was stopped near the intersection of Jean Lane and 167th Street in Tinley Park.
