Tinley Park Home Sales Up 88.9% From a Year Ago

But home prices decreased slightly over the same period, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors. The organization says there are signs of market acceleration as many south suburbs experienced 'notable sales gains' in April.

Single-family home sales in Tinley Park jumped 88.9 percent in April 2013 compared to the same time last year. But home prices saw a slight decrease of 7.2 percent during the same time period, according to data provided by the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). Overall, the Chicago suburbs grew 33.2 percent between April 2012 and April 2013. In the south suburbs, sales in the majority of Patch communities aligned with this trend, with 12 out of 14 towns experiencing an increase in sales and only two towns experiencing a sales decrease. Tinley Park Sees Annual Increase in Home Sales in February

Sales are up 200 percent in Tinley. Representatives from the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors say affordable prices and low interest rates have created a 'perfect storm' of buyer-friendly conditions.

Single-family home sales in Tinley Park grew by 200 percent last month, and they increased 41 percent in the Chicago suburbs during that time, compared to the same month in 2012, according to data provided by the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). In the south suburbs, sales in the majority of Patch communities aligned with this trend, with 10 out of 14 towns experiencing an increase in sales, three towns experiencing a sales decrease and one town remaining the same year-over-year. Evergreen Park saw the most growth in the Southland, with 23 homes sold in February 2013 and only five homes sold one year prior, totaling a 360 percent increase in sales.
