2 in Custody Following Death of Girl in Oak Forest (Update)

Police said Friday afternoon that the death of a 3-year-old girl on Tuesday was a homicide.

Updated 1:03 a.m. March 30 The Cook County medical examiner's office had not yet released a cause of death for a 3-year-old girl in Oak Forest by Friday night, ABC7 Chicago reports. Oak Forest police said Friday afternoon that the death of a 3-year-old girl had been ruled a homicide. Updated 4:47 p.m. March 29 Oak Forest police and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services have provided new information about the custody status of a 3-year-old girl killed earlier this week. Police initially indicated Gina Presley was in the protective custody of DCFS. Fatality Reported in Brookside Glen

A case of domestic abuse has resulted in a fatality, reports state.

Patch recently received reports that a case of domestic abuse has resulted in the death of a Tinley Park woman. The incident reportedly occurred in the Brookside Glen community in south Tinley Park.  There are no details available at this time. Stay with Patch for updates. He pled not guilty this past January. PALOS HILLS—A tentative trial date has been set for two men accused last summer of beating and robbing a Palos Hills woman they believed was a lesbian. Mohammed Shaban, of Hickory Hills, and Akram Alshoweat, of Oak Lawn, are scheduled back in court with attorneys on Dec. 13. Kustok Case Stalled While Evidence is Gathered

The court case for an Orland Park man accused of shooting his wife moves to another date without progress.

Allan Kustok looked back at his daughter Sarah and smiled briefly before turning to face Judge David Sterba in Courtroom 101. But 59-year-old Kustok’s smile was the only different aspect to Friday’s court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse. All the court hearings since he pleaded not guilty in November to one count of first-degree murder in the shooting death of his wife Anita “Jeanie” Kustok have ended with continuances. UPDATE: Man Who Stabbed Brother Released Without Charges

A man who stabbed Danny Fields, 53, of Tinley Park, to death Thursday afternoon has been released without charges in what police are calling an ongoing investigation.

A man who police say stabbed his brother to death Thursday afternoon has been released without charges, Tinley Park police Cmdr. Pat McCain said Friday afternoon. Although he would not release the name of the man because the investigation is ongoing, McCain said the man has been released and is out of the hospital. The man and his brother, Danny Fields, 53, of the 16800 block of Riverside Drive, were both taken to area hospitals Thursday after a dispute at a home the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office listed as Fields' residence. Fields later died. The medical examiner's office on Friday had Fields' cause of death listed as multiple stab wounds and termed the case a homicide.
