Junkas' Claims With McCarthy's Name: Is the Site Right?

Verifying what 37th District challenger Jeffrey Junkas' campaign says about opponent Kevin McCarthy on the www.kevinamccarthy.com, which Junkas runs.

People typing "Kevin A. McCarthy" into the world's most popular search engine will first see the Illinois General Assembly page for state Rep. Kevin A. McCarthy (D-Orland Park), then a Wikipedia article on McCarthy. But the third Google result is www.kevinamccarthy.com, a site paid for by the campaign committee of Jeffrey Junkas, McCarthy's opponent in the race for the 37th District House seat. Starting with a picture of McCarthy positioned next to Rod Blagojevich's mugshot from his 2008 arrest, the site calls for voters to oust McCarthy. In an interview with Patch, Junkas called the tactic a "low-cost, efficient way to get our message out" and cited as an example JoeBerrios.com, a site run by Forrest Claypool, Berrios' opponent in the …

Continuing (there's a character limit in these comments) The numbers are there in black and white. My only quibble is that the report does include trade in these numbers while kevinamccarthy.com does only mention transportation and utilities. Once trade is included, all the U of I numbers are within a few thousand of my results. And there's no way I'm going to argue with people who research …   more ›
