Police: Car Collision Sends Elderly Woman to Hospital with Head Injury

Three men were arrested after a Hummer crashed into another car on Harlem Avenue. Two of them fled the scene, police said.

Three young men were arrested after fleeing a car crash that sent an elderly driver to the hospital, according to an Orland Park police report. Witnesses told police that a Hummer must have been traveling 80 to 90 mph when it fish-tailed on snowy roadway in the 15200 block of Harlem Avenue and collided with a Chevy Cavalier around 5:45 a.m. on Dec. 9, 2011, police said. Paramedics transported a 70-year-old Tinley Park woman bleeding from her head to Palos Community Hospital. Due to severe front-end damage, her car door needed to be pried open, according to the report. On scene, police met Baha F. Police: Man Flees Accident Scene and Takes Pantless Nap in Garbage-Filled Apartment

Officers arrested a Steger man late last week. They said they found him sleeping in a Tinley Park apartment that didn't belong to him. The place was later deemed uninhabitable by a building inspector.

After an out-of-towner reportedly drove off the road near Harlem Avenue and 179th Street last week, police found him sleeping with his pants around his ankles in a filthy Tinley Park apartment that didn't belong to him, they said. Clay Carter, 24, of the 100 block of Valleywood Drive in Steger, was arrested around 5:45 a.m. Thursday.  He was allegedly tied to an earlier 3:25 a.m. accident in which a witness said his vehicle left Harlem Avenue and struck a sign and a fence. Carter reportedly fled on foot toward the 17300 block of 70th Avenue, where officers got a call that someone was trying to break into an apartment. Tinley Police Nab New Lenox Man After He Reportedly Flees Two Accident Scenes

Cops arrested an 18-year-old out-of-towner Sunday.

An 18-year-old New Lenox man was arrested near the intersection of 175th Street and 84th Avenue in Tinley Park after police said he left the scene of two crashes that happened within five minutes of each other. Scott C. Crosby, of the 900 block of Grand Mesa in New Lenox, was arrested around 9:15 p.m. Sunday and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and failure to reduce speed for a red light. The first accident was around 8:35 p.m. near the intersection of 167th Street and 80th Avenue, where Crosby rear-ended another car and then fled the scene, according to the report. The second accident, around 8:40 p.m., was at 175th St. and 80th Avenue. Police said Crosby was making a right-hand turn from a southbound …
