Orland OKs Thai restaurant • Tax sharing approved for Mercedes dealership • Golden Corral incentives expected to be approved.
Los 3 Burritos, a Mexican restaurant that was once part of the Burrito Loco chain, has opened a second location in Tinley Park at 7108 W. 171st St. It is the fourth location for Los 3 Burritos, which is based in Diamond, Ill., and has another location in Streator. The original Tinley location is at 8005 W. 183rd St. and is a full service restaurant with a liquor license. The second location has a couple of tables but is basically intended to be a take-out or delivery burrito joint. A manager at the 183rd Street location said the owner would like to open even more locations in the southwest suburbs. The new location is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Orland Park Police are investigating a false report of a robbery at the Marquette Bank branch at 159th Street and 76th Avenue, according to Cmdr. John Keating. READ: Escaped Bank Robbers Last Seen in Tinley Park The erroneous report came at the same time law enforcement agencies were surrounding a Tinley Park house, looking for two fugitives who escaped from a downtown Chicago correctional facility. Jose Banks, 37, and Kenneth Conley, 38, are convicted bank robbers who were last seen in Tinley Park early Tuesday. Construction is under way on the Whole Foods Market in the former Borders at 15260 S. LaGrange Road in Orland Park and the grocery store is expected to open this fall. “It takes time to turn a former bookstore into a grocery store,” said Orland Park Development Director Karie Friling. “They are also adding a second floor for offices and storage.” The Orland store is one of eight stores the Texas-based chain plans to open this year. At 27,000 square feet, the store is on the small size, especially when compared to a Meijer or Jewel, but Whole Foods prides itself on featuring natural and organic foods that are free of artificial ingredients and hydrogenated fats. Area moms and daughters welcomed Five Below discount store to Tinley Park “I love it,” said Becky Harrison, of Tinley. She was back-to-school shopping with her daughter Brianna, 10, at the new Brookside Marketplace store at 191st Street and Harlem Avenue. “There’s something for everyone and they have great prices,” she said. “I’ve been waiting for this store to open after I went a couple of times to the store in Orland Hills.” Five Below is the first of three new stores coming to Brookside Marketplace. Does anyone know if and when the Tilted Kilt will open in Orland Park? It's been a while since the restaurant was first announced however I have yet to see any progress at the restaurant site. Did they change their mind about opening at the site?   more ›
