Alsip Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

The single-vehicle crash happened near 147th and Oak Park Avenue late Saturday night.

Authorities have released the name of the driver killed in a motorcycle wreck near 147th and Oak Park Avenue Saturday night. Matteo Manueli, 34, of Alsip, has been identified as the driver of the motorcycle, the Chicago Tribune reports. The driver appeared to have lost control while driving at about 8:45 p.m., said Oak Forest Police Lt. John Koschnitzky. The roadway and weather were clear last night. Koschnitzky said the victim wasn't wearing a helmet. The driver was taken to Palos Community Hospital. Police were at the scene of the crash until early Sunday morning. Tinley Park Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash

Police are investigating a Saturday night crash that killed a 22-year-old Tinley Park resident.

Hector Ayala, 22, of Tinley Park, was killed following a Saturday evening motorcycle crash, Tinley Park police said. At 6:43 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, police responded to the 16500 block of South 80th Avenue for a motorcycle crash. Ayala was taken to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, where he later died from his injuries. Police are investigating the incident. Police Chief Michael O'Connell said no other information was immediately available Monday. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office could not be reached Monday because of the Columbus Day holiday. Ayala's family declined to comment for this story.
