Tinley Police Officers Head to NJ to Help in Wake of Hurricane Sandy

Four Tinley Park Police officers were requested by New Jersey through a mutual aid program to assist with the relief effort after the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy, said Mayor Ed Zabrocki.

The Tinley Park Police Department will be sending four officers to New Jersey to help with relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, said Mayor Ed Zabrocki on Friday night. The department received the request around 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, through a nationwide mutual aid program the village participates in, the mayor said. As of Friday evening, details were still being worked out, including which four officers would be sent east to help law enforcement in the Garden State, Zabrocki said. Those individuals should be chosen by Saturday, Nov. 3, after Tinley Park Police Chief Steve Neubauer determines who is available for the assignment, which will probably run for about five days, Zabrocki added.
