Our crew of nearly 20 Southland Patch editors, ad managers and other staff will descend on Tinley May 30 to sprinkle goodies and volunteerism throughout the community. As a preview, we're kicking off a daily contest right NOW!
We at Patch believe there are two kinds of people— those who love us and those who haven’t found us yet. So on Wednesday, May 30, we'll be pounding the glorious Tinley Park pavement to spread the word. How, you ask? By stopping in nonprofit organizations, like Together We Cope on Oak Park Avenue, popping into businesses to hand out freebies and introduce ourselves, and most importantly, mingling with perfect strangers during our journey. To give you a preview of the fun—it includes handing out a free gift card to anyone who utters the secret word, "Zabrocki", to Patchers who are out and about that day—I'm kicking off a daily scavenger hunt. Tinley Park sparkles in national holiday decoration contest for our schools.
The first set of finalists for our nationwide Deck the House contest are in and—brace yourself—one of our Tinley Park homes has made the cut! Before I announce the resident who will move on in the competition, I'd like to thank all three of you who submitted photos to our contest. Knowing that you tried your hand at winning $100,000 for our local schools should mean the world to your fellow community members. Not to mention the fact that you made our dark drives home more festive and "oooh-worthy" this holiday season. Thank you. Congratulations, Valerie Keefe! You're the Tinley Park finalist! Two weeks ago, Patch editors in Orland Park, Tinley Park and Oak Forest asked to hear your love stories. We hoped you wouldn't leave out any of the mushy stuff, in honor of Valentine's Day. The first place winner receives a $75 Lettuce Entertain You gift card, with the runner-up receiving a $25 card. Patch will contact the winners to arrange prize hand-off.
