Workplace Hazards: Weird Crime 2012

Double-fisted spooning doesn't cut it • Big breakfast surprise at McDonald's • What, doesn't everyone doodle at work? ... Weird Crime of the Southland 2012.

Woman Brings Spoons to a Knife Fight: A woman cutting pork chops in the meat department in September at Sam's Club in Tinley Park was confronted by another woman wielding a pair of large spoons. Daniela Griffin, 24, said she was so afraid of being hit by a spoon she raised her hands and "accidentally" cut the other woman's nose with her pork-chop knife. Police charged Griffin with reckless conduct. On Tinley Park Patch A Sharp Start to the Morning: A McDonald's customer in Oak Forest returned home with a Big Breakfast and she got a big surprise, discovering a razor blade beneath her scrambled eggs in April. Village Videos: Volunteer's Voice Fills Customers With a Giving Spirit

Patch spotlights videos that give you a different look at the community, past and present. This week, watch and listen to Stephanie Porche sing as she works at her Salvation Army post at Sam's Club in Tinley Park.

Village Videos features videos from Patch, from around the web and from readers that showcase Tinley Park. Want your video featured? Upload it to our Neighborhood Gallery and email me at joev@patch.com to say you want to see it in Village Videos. WATCH: How Tinley Park Helped After a Disaster This is a great job for three reasons: If you've shopped at Sam's Club on Harlem Avenue last week, then you've probably …

Area Mouth-Watering Barbecue Draws a Crowd

Teams from across the country lit barbecues and sauteed ribs for cash prizes at the Evergreen Park Sam's Club.

Whether it's with family or friends, barbecuing has always been a summer tradition in America. For the last 20 years, though, it's become more of a competition. Actually, it's gone nationwide. “Barbecuing has been around since America first became a country,” said nationally renowned pit-master Troy Black, during the competition at the Evergreen Park Sam's Club Saturday. “It's one of our oldest ways to cook.” This year, hundreds of teams across the U.S. are competing for the title of national barbecue champions. The Inaugural Sam's Club National BBQ Tour was sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society, the world's largest organization dedicated to the culinary art of barbecuing.
