The Village of Tinley Park earned a National Night Out Award for 2012 from the National Association of Town Watch, the sixth consecutive year for the village, according to a village press release. Tinley Park's event, which is the local component of a national crime, drug and violence prevention and awareness program, was one of only three towns from Illinois to win in its category, the release stated. Hundreds turn out for the annual National Night Out along Oak Park Avenue.
After moving from Harlem to Oak Park Avenue this year, organizers were happy Tuesday with the turnout at Tinley Park's annual National Night Out Against Crime. Hundreds of people at Zabrocki Plaza in downtown Tinley near the Oak Park Avenue Train Station got free pizza, free ice cram, free insurance quotes and so much more during the evening-long event.
