Son of Woman Killed in Crash Sues Driver

Sham Firadusi says his mother, Tinley Park resident Lubna Firadusi, had a green light when Orland Hills resident and allegedly drunken driver Kevin Santiago struck her car on Dec. 2, near 183rd and 80th Avenue.

The son of a woman killed in a Dec. 2 crash in Tinley Park is suing the allegedly drunken driver of the car that struck hers, Sun-Times Media reports.  Kevin Santiago, 33, of Orland Hills, was charged with reckless homicide and aggravated DUI following the crash that killed 50-year-old Lubna Firadusi, of Tinley Park.   Santiago, of the 8800 block of West 170th Street in Orland Hills, also was charged with driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving without insurance and disobeying a traffic control device, according to police. Orland Hills Man Charged With Reckless Homicide in Crash

Kevin Santiago, 33, also faces DUI charges after a two-vehicle accident Sunday that killed a 50-year-old Tinley Park woman, police report.

A 33-year-old Orland Hills man was charged Tuesday with reckless homicide in connection with a crash that killed a 50-year-old Tinley Park woman Sunday, according to the Tinley Park Police Department. Kevin Santiago, of the 8800 block of West 170th Street in Orland Hills, also was charged with driving under the influence, aggravated DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving without insurance and disobeying a traffic control device, a police press release stated. Tinley Park Woman Dies After Early Morning Car Crash

Lubna Firdausi, 50, died after a two-vehicle crash at 183rd Street and 80th Avenue. A 33-year-old Orland Hills man is being questioned in the accident.

UPDATED (11:27 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2) A 50-year-old Tinley Park woman died after she was involved in a two-car accident early Sunday near the intersection of 183rd Street and 80th Avenue, according to Tinley Park Police. Lubna Firdausi, a driver of one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at 8:03 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, the Chicago Tribune reports. Oak Forest Man in Crash Died From Unrelated Heart Problems (Updated)

David Van Heel, 50, died early Friday, the county medical examiner's office reports, days after being involved in a four-vehicle accident. An autopsy Saturday listed the cause of death as heart problems unrelated to the crash, Sun-Times Media reports.

UPDATED: 6:18 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21 An Oak Forest man died Friday morning, days after being involved in a four-vehicle crash at the intersection of 159th Street and Oak Park Avenue in Tinley Park, the county medical examiner's office reports. David Van Heel, 50, of the 15100 block of Spruce Lane in Oak Forest, was pronounced dead at Palos Community Hospital early Friday, Oct. 19, the Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed. His body also had been released to the family, a representative from the agency said. Report: Driver Gets 6 Months in Jail for Crash That Killed L-W North Grad

Lukasz Marszalek, who was convicted of aggravated speeding in the 2011 accident that killed Julie Gorczynski, apologized in the courtroom before his punishment was handed down Tuesday, the Chicago Tribune reports.
