Myra Eder is a veteran journalist who spent 25 years in the newspaper business, covering everything from politics and business to arts and entertainment. For the last three years, she has been an independent writer working on a variety of business and publicity projects. She writes SouthScene for Patch, a weekly arts and entertainment column for the southwest suburbs. An arts and entertainment blog she launched nearly two years ago is widely read in the Southland and beyond. In her spare time, Eder reads about astronomy and cosmology and occasionally volunteers at Adler Planetarium. She and her husband are avid theatre-goers who enjoy both community and professional productions and classic sci-fi movies and film noir from the 1940s and '50s.
