Village Videos: Is Tinley Park a UFO Magnet?

Patch spotlights videos that give you a different look at the community, past and present. This week, we feature three videos that show the village as a popular place for UFO sightings over the years.

For a village that doesn't have an airport near its boundaries just yet, Tinley Park seems to have become quite the destination for flying objects, especially unidentified ones.

Maybe it has to do with the helipad that is situated next to the Tinley Park Fire Department's training area off of 183rd Street. Or maybe it has to do with the Tinley Park Village Board approving a measure last month that allows Santa Claus to land in the village Christmas Eve.

Perhaps those reasons—and others have contributed—to Tinley Park's reputation in the UFO community as quality airspace worth cruising.

Either way, the village's status as UFO magnet has attracted the attention of not only residents, but ufologists around the world. That's why we've collected some video footage of a UFO sighting from earlier this year (Editor's note: These amateur videos contain brief profanity and might be NSFW), as well as a short TV segment about the Tinley Park Triangle sighting in 2004.
