Hope was founded in 1999 by a long-time resident of Tinley Park, Traci Tyszka. Being an experienced Montessori teacher, teacher trainer and mentor, she wished to open a school in Tinley, the community she had chosen to raise her own children.

The school grew from an original eight students to its current size of more than 80. To accommodate its growing population, the neighboring property was acquired and a large addition was built in 2008. Today, Hope Montessori is thriving despite the challenges of a struggling economy.

What is your business best known for?

Hope Montessori, a school focused on early childhood education, was founded to nurture the spirit of children and the joy of learning in an atmosphere of freedom, respect and responsibility.

Hope aims to assist children in their development by preparing an environment rich in didactic materials that invites hands-on discoveries.

The school strives to include parents in the process and support an informed community of families.

Hope Montessori aims daily to stay true to the Montessori Vision and Method of Education, and to serve as a great example of the approach, welcoming visitors to observe a class in action (through one way mirrors), or take a tour of the school.

Hope’s teachers are certified in Montessori instruction, and are highly dedicated, experienced, and caring.

The Montessori approach to education is receiving an avalanche of good press these days, in publications as widely diverse as Forbes and Parents Magazine. Many people believe it is the wave of the future of education – though interestingly, it has been around for more than 100 years.

A small school with big dreams, Hope Montessori offers programs for children from birth through Kindergarten. For birth to 3 year olds, we have Saturday parent/child playgroups, and for 3 to 6 year olds, we offer a 3-, 4-, or 5-day morning program with early bird, extended day or all-day options.
