Oak Forest Teen Indicted in Crash That Killed Young Tinley Girl

A 17-year-old faces charges after he reportedly hit and killed a 4-year-old with his car in May.

An Oak Forest teen was indicted Tuesday on two charges that stem from the May death of a 4-year-old girl, Triblocal reports.

Deandre Wolfe, 17, faces one count of aggravated driving under the influence and one count of reckless homicide. He attended a hearing Tuesday in the Cook County Circuit Court.

Police have said that around 4 p.m. on May 9, she was chasing after a ball in front of her home in the 6500 block of 175th Street when she was struck by a car driven by Wolfe, then 16.

She was pronounced dead at Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest about 90 minutes later, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Wolfe reportedly had traces of marijuana in his system and was speeding through a school zone before the crash, a Cook County State's Attorney spokesman told Triblocal Tuesday.
