Backpack-Collecting Brothers Get Pat on the Back from Aurelio's

The kids' good deed is among the top stories in the Southland this week.

Three brothers from Flossmoor, 11-year-old Caleb, 9-year-old Ian and 6-year-old Noah, collected 52 backpacks for needy schoolkids. Aurelio's in Homewood was so impressed with their work, the restaurant's owner decided to invite the kids and their family over for a private pizza party. Joe Aurelio personally thanked the boys for their job well done and presented them with an assortment of Aurelio's gear and tickets to the Shedd Aquarium. "It's a good thing you stepped forward and tried to help other people," Aurelio said. "That's a great job you guys did."
